If you’ve never been to a Montana Open Mic, you should! A waterfall joke, a yellowstone joke, a tourists-getting-tossed-into-the-air-by-bison joke? Come and sling em!
Montana only has 7 towns with more than 20,000 population. Here are the top 7 after incorporating “bedroom communities” population numbers into the main centers:

Among these, the towns with the richest open mic history are Missoula & Bozeman, each with an open mic legacy going back ten years or more.
At last count, Bozeman has two weekly Stand-Up Comedy Open Mics; on Mondays 7PM at The Break Room, near Montana State University Campus and on Tuesdays 8PM at Last Best Comedy Club.

There are various ways of signing up to try open mic comedy. The most common way of signing up is showing up 15 minutes before the show starts and physically sign up on a sheet of paper. Some high-demand open mics have established a more formal sign-up process that involves either filling out a form or emailing a scheduling person to get onto the show. This is the case with Bozeman’s Bone Dry Comedy Hour. Bone Dry Comedy hour is the largest weekly Montana Open Mic.
Most Open Mic Comedy sets are 5 minutes long; that is the “standard” length. Some Open Mics reduce time based on skill level, experience, or simply to meet demands of overall show length.
